What do we expect from you?


  • Minimum five years of experience in the area of Big Data
  • Bachelor/Master degree in Computer Science, Physics, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Information Management or in similar qualifications
  • Very good knowledge in data processing systems, databases and current technologies
  • Independent and result-oriented solutions of problems
  • Willingness to travel
  • German (B1/B2), English (fluent): in writing and speaking
  • Competence in at least four of the following technologies:
    • Hadoop Technologien (Cloudera, MapReduce)
    • Elasticsearch oder Solr
    • Apache Spark
    • Apache Kafka (Confluent)
    • Data format types (Avro, Parquet, JSON)
    • Python and/or Java development (Spring, JEE) including Web- Technologies and Web-Services (REST, SOAP)
  • Good to have:
    • SQL, PL/SQL und relational DBMS (ex. Oracle, PostgreSQL)
    • ETL and Data integration
    • NoSQL DBMS (ex. MongoDB, Cassandra, Neo4j)
    • Cloud Infrastructures (ex. AWS, Azure)

  • Development experience with Ab Initio components such as Partition by key, Partition by Round Robin, Gather, Merge, Lookup, Rollup, Scan, join etc.
  • Familiarity and practical experience with fundamental Ab Initio concepts: parallelism, parametrization, metaprogramming, continues flows, projects / sandboxes, code promotion, etc.
  • Good knowledge in using UNIX scripts and SQLs
  • Experience of ETL/ELT and Data-Warehouse Systems (DWHs)
  • Experienced in designing, developing and delivering data integration/data extraction solutions
